When can I vote for Eve Shuman?

  • Election Day: July 19, 2022 | 7am-8pm

  • Early Voting: July 7-14, 2022 | 7am-8pm

  • Mail-In Voting: Postmarked On or Before July 19, 2022 OR Delivered at a Ballot Dropbox no later than July 19, 2022 @ 8pm.

I want to vote for Eve Shuman, but do I need to be a Democrat in order to do so?

  • Yes. In Maryland, primary elections require all voters to be registered as either a Democrat or Republican in order to participate in their respective primaries. If you wish to support Eve Shuman, you need to be registered as a Democrat. If you’re a first-time voter, you can register to vote and join the Democratic Party at the polls or online. If you’re an existing voter who’s not a Democrat yet, you must update your party affiliation no later than June 28.

I’m a convicted felon, but I’ve finished serving my sentence. Can I vote?

  • Yes! As of 2016, the right to vote was restored to formerly incarcerated individuals who have finished serving their court-ordered sentence. If you’re currently serving a felony sentence, you’re ineligible to vote until you’ve been released and have finished your sentence. You can register to vote by mail or online using the resources linked above.

I forgot to update my new address! What do I do?

  • Not to worry, there is still a chance to fix that before Election Day. If you weren’t able to submit your address change before June 28 online, you can go to your Early Voting site and ask to update your address on file before voting. To find your nearest polling site, use the “Vote Early” guide above.

I plan to vote by mail. When should I expect my ballot to arrive?

  • If you requested your ballot before June, you should receive it 30-45 days before Election Day. If you submit it after the first batch of ballots are mailed, you can expect to see yours in your mailbox 5-10 business days after your request was received. We strongly encourage all voters to submit their application online no later than July 12 to ensure that your ballot arrives on time and a scheduled time to drop your ballot off in the mail or at a ballot box on election day. You can also submit a ballot request at the Board of Elections or by mail.

It’s Election Day, but I haven’t submitted my mail-in ballot yet. Will it be counted?

  • As long as your ballot is postmarked on or before July 19, or dropped off at a ballot box on election day, your ballot is guaranteed to be counted. We strongly recommend to send your ballot no later than July 18 to ensure it’s postmarked before the deadline, but you’re always able to turn in your ballot in-person at the Board of Elections or at a polling place instead. If your postal delivery driver has already picked up your outgoing mail and delivered your incoming mail on Election Day, we recommend you to turn in the ballot at the polls instead of at a Post Office to ensure your ballot is counted without delay.

Can I Register to Vote at the Polls on Election Day?

  • Yes! However, this applies only to first-time voters, and not to those already registered who need to update their registration information. We strongly encourage everyone to register online in advance using the resources linked above to ensure that if there are any issues getting registered, they can be resolved without rush. In order to registered at the polls, you need to bring your State ID/License or use your social security number.
